Oxx expects Ebanoran progress
The Oasis Dream colt passed the post in front in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown earlier this month, but was later demoted to second for causing interference to fellow Epsom contender Fascinating Rock, trained by Dermot Weld.
The two look set to lock horns again in the premier Classic in a fortnight’s time, but Oxx admits both need to step up their game to challenge 2000 Guineas third and hot favourite Australia.
“He came out of the last race well, we still have two weeks to go but at this stage, we’re happy,” said Oxx.
“There was nothing between him and Fascinating Rock at Leopardstown and, at this time of year, it’s all about how horses improve. Both of them have 6lb to find with Australia on official ratings. “I don’t think the track should be a problem for our horse and hopefully the atmosphere shouldn’t bother him.”
