Oxx expects Ebanoran progress

John Oxx is keeping his fingers crossed Ebanoran can find the necessary improvement to make his presence felt in the Investec Derby at Epsom.

The Oasis Dream colt passed the post in front in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown earlier this month, but was later demoted to second for causing interference to fellow Epsom contender Fascinating Rock, trained by Dermot Weld.

The two look set to lock horns again in the premier Classic in a fortnight’s time, but Oxx admits both need to step up their game to challenge 2000 Guineas third and hot favourite Australia.
