Dazzling can boost Oaks hopes

Dazzling is fancied to give her Epsom Oaks prospects a boost by landing the Group 3 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Blue Wind Stakes at Naas tonight.

The daughter of Galileo was a bit hit and miss as a juvenile, but there was little wrong with her reappearance at Navan last month and can now build on that.

She was very easy to back in the market, but made no mistake out on the track. Aidan O’Brien’s charge was soon in front and made practically all the running to beat Cristal Fashion by a length and three parts.

Behind in fourth spot was Dermot Weld’s I’m Yours and she went on to take a Listed event at Gowran Park.

O’Brien’s Royal Ascot bound War Envoy is difficult to oppose in the six furlongs Fishery Lane Race.

The son of War Front started off at Naas 16 days ago, easing to a comfortable defeat of chief market rival Packing Go Go.

Ballydoyle, at least in theory, should also take the Dragon Pulse EBF Fillies Maiden with the once-raced Timbuktu.

She made her debut on this track, doing all of her best work at the end when half a length second behind shock winner, the 33-1 shot, Coto.

Moving up an extra furlong now can only work in Timbuktu’s favour, but it’s a remark that can be equally applied to Icy Lady, who was a place and three quarters of a length behind the selection at Naas.

Icy Lady wasn’t given a hard time when her chance of winning was gone and might have the legs on Timbuktu on this occasion.

Ger Lyons’ Fog Of War gets the vote in the Kill Maiden. He began promisingly at Gowran Park when third to Dermot Weld’s Good Tradition and Aidan O’Brien’s Falkirk.
