Williams and Coleman notch Plumpton double

Venetia Williams and Aidan Coleman are turning Plumpton into their private fiefdom as the thriving trainer and jockey combination added a double to their four-timer from eight days earlier, with Uhlan Bute and Toubeera.

The 8-11 favourite Uhlan Bute got them off to a fine start in the opening Race Passes At timeform.com Novices’ Hurdle, thwarting the well-backed Raven’s Tower by a neck after good placed efforts at Sandown and Leicester earlier this winter.

A match between 1-2 favourite Toubeera and Massannie panned out as expected in the EBF Stallions Mares’ “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle, with David Pipe’s mare missing the kick but soon getting herself back alongside.

Eventually, though, dual novice and bumper Toubeera drew nine lengths clear.
