At least that’s what the HRI is hoping after it announced a raft of cost cutting measures and an increase in prize money aimed at attracting more racing fans into buying horses.

HRI Chief Executive Brian Kavanagh yesterday unveiled a plan to reduce administration costs for owners in a bid to tackle the sharp decline in racehorse owners in Ireland since 2008.
