High draw no problem for Zarib

The Michael Halford-trained Zarib emerged as the best prospect on show in Dundalk last night, the Declan McDonogh-ridden colt proving an emphatic winner of the Irish Stallion Farms Median Auction 2-Y-0 Maiden over a mile.

High draw no problem for Zarib

A strapping son of Azamour, Zarib has improved with each run and overcame a high draw to get the better of favourite Vector Force by a length.

Halford, who trains the colt for the Aga Khan, commented: “He did it well from a bad draw. Declan had to roust him along to be handy, but he stays well and is improving with every run. He has lots of scope and size and has enough done. He should make a lovely, staying three-year-old.”
