Point to point medical facilities have been identified as requiring immediate improvements according to Michael Hickey, Senior Steward, Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee.

The committee will invest €300,000 over the next three years to improve the facilities and the first €100,000 will immediately be donated to the Jockeys Emergency Fund.

“Point to Point meetings have become even more popular and one area which we have identified that needs further enhancement is in medical facilities and services. A number of initiatives have been identified and it is hoped that these will be rolled out before the end of the year,” he said at the Irish National Hunt Awards Dinner which was held on Sunday night in the Dunboyne Castle Hotel, Co Meath.
