Precious Stone’s turn has come
David Wachman’s three-year-old appears to be genuine enough, but suffers from a complaint common to most horses, she has limited ability.
That said there is no doubt the daughter of Galileo holds outstanding claims and has to be fancied to at least go close.
She produced a solid effort at Clonmel eight days ago and, hopefully, can now build on that.
Precious Stone was beaten three and three quarter lengths into second by Aidan O’Brien’s Hail and had Dermot Weld’s Three Kingdoms three parts of a length behind in third.
The form received a timely boost at Galway on Monday when Three Kingdoms took a maiden by nine and a half lengths.
If Precious Stone fails to oblige then we are certainly going to struggle for profit, on a most unappealing card.
Robbie Hennessy’s Rawnaq gets the nod in the Victoria Square Ulster Cesarewitch Handicap.
He won over flights at Bellewstown and followed with a decent enough effort when third on the level behind Regal Tramp and Greenbelt Star at Dundalk.
Fromajacktoaking, with the talented Ronan Whelan taking a useful 5lbs off, might squeeze through the Nobbs Claiming Race, having finished fifth to Horizon Sky in a nursery at Gowran Park last week.
