Listowel return for Ruby

Ruby Walsh, absent with a broken ankle since the Galway festival in early August, will return to action at Listowel.

Speaking yesterday, Walsh said: “I have been passed fit by Bill Quinlan (surgeon) and the plan is to resume at Listowel on Sunday.

“I rode out five lots this morning and my weight is good. I’m feeling great and am 100%.’’ Walsh suffered his injury when partnering Drive Time in the Galway Hurdle on August 2.

Drive Time went off the well-backed 4-1 favourite, but fell at the fourth flight, sending Walsh tumbling to the turf.

As well as suffering a small break to his ankle, Walsh was also temporarily knocked unconscious.
