The Jim Bolger-trained Annie Power sent punters home happy when powering to victory in the Enniscorthy Mares Flat Race in rain-soaked Wexford last night.

Successful on her debut in Galway, the four-year-old Shirocco mare, owned by former Wexford hurler Eamon Cleary, stretched clear in the straight to win impressively by fifteen lengths from Ourbeautifuldream, justifying 6/4 favouritism.

Bolger’s representative Ger Flynn confirmed: “Patrick (Mullins) was thrilled with her. We knew, by her home work, that she had improved since Galway. She could be very good and might go for a flat maiden now.”
