Rising Time can lead her rivals a merry dance

Paul Nolan’s charge was a costly failure at Tipperary last Sunday when beaten eight lengths into second by 33-1 shot Raise The Goblet.

On the face of it that was a disappointing effort, but the selection is a top-of-the-ground performer and was always going to prove vulnerable in the testing conditions which prevailed then.

The plus side is that she jumped really well and the forecast good to firm ground now will be ideal for the selection.

Annie Other is the obvious danger, having gone under by two lengths to an in-form rival in Great Oak on this track last month.

The aforementioned Raise The Goblet turns up now over flights, in the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.

That defeat of Rising Time was his first outing in 645 days and, if stripping in the same shape, has to have a real life off a very low rating.

Arthur Moore’s Drumlister will take all of the beating in the St Patrick’s Rock Handicap Chase, even though steadily climbing the weights. He won by six lengths at Tramore in June and then turned out again four days later, under a mandatory penalty, at Downpatrick.

The six-year-old looked something of a good thing, but unfortunately the rain arrived, turning the ground on the soft side before the contest.

Drumlister nearly got away with it, but gave best in the final stride and was beaten a nose by Kingsmoss. He has gone up 13lbs for his latest two efforts, but this looks a weak race and, as long as the rain stays away, can deliver.

Jimmy Mangan’s Izabelle Amie gets the vote, in what is a very decent winners Bumper for mares.

The one worry is whether the two mile trip might be on the short side for her, having beaten Queen Of The Hill by a neck over two and a half at Limerick. It seems a chance worth taking, however, considering Queen Of The Hill went on to bolt in at Downpatrick.
