Change of tactics work a treat on Griesenau

In-form Paul Carberry brought his tally for the new season to seven when recording a well-executed double on Nodelay and Griesenau at Downpatrck last night.

Change of tactics work a treat on Griesenau

On Nodelay, locally trained by Colin McBratney, Carberry took his time on the Beneficial mare in the Elvis Tribute Show Mares Hurdle, producing her late to tackle and master Benefit Of Porter on the run-in. Nodelay scored by two and quarter lengths, prompting McBratney to comment: “The ground couldn’t be fast enough for her and I was happy when I walked the track at lunchtime.”

He added: “She’s a good filly and Paul gave her a great ride. She’s a lot stronger and seems a better mare this year. She made them look ordinary today.”
