Theleze ready to strike for Mullins

THELEZE, who has proved a bit frustrating since arriving from France to Willie Mullins’ yard, can do the business in the Munster Supporters’ Club Mares Maiden Hurdle at Limerick this afternoon.

Theleze ready to strike for Mullins

Mind you she has performed well in all three of her races in this country and should now be ready to strike.

On her latest appearance, the five-year-old finished three and three quarter lengths second behind Caolaneoin at Fairyhouse, after running near the front throughout.

In the end she was outclassed, with the winner cruising ahead over the second last to score hard held.

What was encouraging, though, was the manner in which Theleze kept going and stepping up three furlongs in trip now should very much work in her favour.

Mullins also has possibilities with Immediate Response (Mothers’ Day Weekend Handicap Hurdle) and Sizing Sahara (Bumper).

Immediate Response has won both his races for the trainer, by six and a half lengths at Clonmel and 11 lengths at Thurles.

Such audacity hasn’t, obviously, been lost on the handicapper and the selection has gone up 24lbs, but could still make light of it.

Sizing Sahara is by Shirocco and, like Theleze, carries the Sizing Europe colours of Anne and Alan Potts.

The McMahons.ie Family Fun Day 1st April Hurdle won’t take much winning and could go to The Four Elms, down in class, having finished in mid-field behind Darroun at Leopardstown.
