GIFT Of Dgab is the nap choice to make a winning debut over fences in the Askeaton Beginners Chase at Limerick this afternoon.

Like a lot of Gigginstown House Stud horses, he was merely marking time over flights and this is surely his true calling.

Mind you the seven-year-old was a more than useful hurdler, even if only managing one success.

That came at Navan in February when rallying powerfully from the back of the last to beat Popcorn by two lengths.

He had a couple of other decent efforts to his credit as well, particularly finishing second to Jack Cool on this track in April.

Willie Mullins’ horse are now starting to hit top gear and are clearly going to be more than worth following in the coming months. His Bundle Of Fun can take the Friends Of Greenmount Handicap Chase, thus recouping heavy losses incurred at Punchestown last time.

Bundle Of Fun went of a tight 6-5 favourite then, but a blunder four out ended his chances and he eventually trailed home a well beaten third behind Don’t Tell Purty and Dark Vagabond.

Ruby Walsh, who guided him to success over flights at Listowel previously, is now back in the plate.

Mullins’ French-import Theleze is the interesting one in the Munster Mares’ Maiden Hurdle. Winner of a bumper at Deauville in December, she will carry the Sizing Europe colours and so will be partnered by Andrew Lynch.
