Livia’s Wake looks worth waiting for
The David Wachman trained Galileo filly has looked progressive in recent runs and, rated 77, might be capable of gaining a valuable winning bracket. Third behind Along Came Polly and subsequent winner Alabelle at Gowran Park in August, Livia’s Wake appeared to appreciate a step-up in trip when collared late by Mojita at Killarney last time, with Sloane Street, a rival again tonight, four lengths adrift in third.
Wachman’s filly looks capable of a maiden success and has been found a good opportunity to open her account, with a high draw unlikely to prove a significant disadvantage over this mile and a half.
Earlier, the selection’s stable companion Pyrenean Music should make a bold bid to land the second division of the two-year-old median auction maiden. The daughter of Oratorio shaped like a likely future winner on her recent debut at Gowran Park, where she finished a close third to the well-regarded Ballydoyle debutant Tibet. With normal improvement, Pyrenean Music should be capable of success at this level.
Aidan O’Brien will saddle both Vault and East Meets West for the listed Star Appeal 2-Y-0 Stakes and both colts deserve respect. But each-way support of the Ger Lyons-trained Jemima’s Pearl is suggested in a tricky heat, having shown a liking for this surface when landing her maiden emphatically over course and distance back in August, beating subsequent winners Mahaazen and Homecoming Queen.
