River can stay on too stoutly for rivals
Belindas Lee, drawn in two here, is an expert trapper but he stays just a little off the fence throughout and that could play very much in favour of Aghaburren River.
If the last-named can turn within hailing distance of the likely leader, he could sneak through along the inside to set-up a winning run.
Ballydaly United was unlucky when his sheet came loose mid-race in last week’s semi-finals of the Murphy’s A4 Stake, and he can make amends with victory in the final. He came from off the pace to finish just half a length behind Whitty Lisa on that occasion and a little improvement makes him the one to beat.
He’s a massive pup and still very inexperienced, but he’s done enough in just two outings to suggest he could develop into an exciting sort next term.
Whitty Kate looks likely to set the early fractions and she should finish amongst the places.
The Great Stuff Caterers Open 525 is the race of the night and it’s very difficult to separate some of these. Colorful Champ would seem likely to be sent off favourite, but Leeview Jet looks a more likely leader and that could be the winning of the race.
Leger runner-up Varra Captain recorded a fine trial last weekend, but he was unable to lead Cian Jamie in the first round of the Irish Derby and may struggle to assert his authority here. Sede Vacante should be forgiven last week’s effort, where he charged the traps, and would be a player if breaking from the inside.
Colorful Champ ran a super race here three weeks ago and ran out a comfortable winner on Saturday night at Shelbourne.
He’s a huge danger, but he must master Sede Vacante quickly to maximise his chance. Leeview Jet should lead from the outside and as he’s likely to be peaking for the Laurels, he shouldn’t be caught.
