A useful enough sort when trained on the flat by Ger Lyons, the selection is now in the care of Tony Martin and caught the eye on his debut over jumps at Cork last month.

He finished two lengths and three lengths third behind Rebel Fitz and Park Ranger, giving every indication his turn might not be long delayed.

You would prefer, of course, that the contest was working out a bit better, but it was still a decent first effort and this does not look a particularly difficult task.

The frustrating Pozyc is given a final chance to deliver in the competitive Edmond Whelan Memorial Handicap Hurdle.

He really is proving costly to follow and again found one too good for him in the shape of Original Option at Bellewstown.

But Original Option has scored twice in the meantime and there is no denying Pozyc has a life off bottom weight.

The Listowel Races Supporters’ Club Slan Abhaile Race has a fascinating appearance, with Pittoni certain to be the focus of much attention.

He ran in the contest a year ago, finishing a never dangerous fourth behind Cloone Rocket. The performance did not please the stewards and Pittoni was suspended for 42 days and his rider, Derek Fox, for seven days.

Pittoni’s last outing was at Tipperary in April when proving far too good for the talented Galileo’s Choice over today’s trip, a mile and six.

His travels in the market will be hugely important, but from this range the nod falls on Luska Lad, representing the in-form Shark Hanlon yard.

He made a promising reappearance when runner-up to Galileo’s Choice at Killarney just over three weeks ago and will at least enjoy an edge in fitness over Pittoni!

Leah Claire is fancied to defy top weight in the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle, having finished three lengths second to Beir Bua here on Monday.

Cnocan Diva, who chased home Puttore at the Curragh, is the one to beat in the Lynch’s Bakery Fillies Maiden.

At Fairyhouse tomorrow Cabin, beaten by stable companion Was at the Curragh, a race which has been working out nicely, can land the nap in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden for fillies.
