Sole Power team on weather watch

EDWARD LYNAM is keeping his fingers crossed for a dry week on Merseyside to allow his stable star Sole Power to line up in Saturday’s Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock.

The four-year-old is already a course winner having landed the Temple Stakes earlier in the season but he was forced to miss the Nunthorpe at York – his major target of the season – due to unsuitable conditions.

He ran a respectable race when second in a Group Three at the Curragh on Sunday and Lynam believes his star turn is a more potent force when the pace is stronger.
