Shane Foley had a very easy time on the three-year-old, which could be called a winner a long way from home and the 11/2 shot ran out a most impressive winner over Hurricane Havoc.
“She surprised me the way that she quickened up and left them for dead. On paper it looked a competitive race but, when Shane gave her a squeeze two furlongs out, she just took off,” commented the winning trainer Jessica Harrington.
“She’s entered in the Dance Design Stakes and the Blandford Stakes at the Curragh. She is also in the Group 1 Champion Fillies And Mares Stakes at Ascot, so we’ll see how she comes out this before deciding where she’ll go,” she added.
Along Came Casey, an unlucky loser at the Galway Festival, made no mistake when the favourite captured the concluding fillies maiden for Pat Smullen and Dermot Weld.
Dubawi Star looked an improved horse when he ran out a clear-cut winner of the jogforjockeys.ie Handicap.
Niall McCullagh came wide into the straight on the winner and he appeared to relish the fast ground when he accounted for Tobar Na Gaoise.
“We tried a new trip today and he stayed well. The first time cheek-pieces also seemed to work well. He missed a bit of time with a bruised foot but we didn’t intend leaving him off for so long, it just worked out that way,” reported John Oxx
“The handicapper will probably murder him for that, but we’ll see what he does and maybe something like the Cambridgeshire could be a possibility for him now.”
Legendary Times overcame a tardy start to run out an easy winner of the apprentice handicap for Danny Benson and Pat Flynn.
Greek Canyon put up a fine weight carrying performance when he ran out a gutsy winner of the nursery for Ger Lyons and Keagan Latham.
