Determination looks set to go one better

DEEP DETERMINATION - hopefully he will live up to his name - gets the nap in the Bumper at Roscommon tonight.

Determination looks set to go one better

Christy Roche’s four-year-old showed little on his debut at Gowran Park, but stepped up markedly on that effort next time at Tipperary.

Far from neglected in the market, Deep Determination was beaten a head in a driving finish by Ut Love. The form appears reasonable considering the fifth horse, Kilbarry Classic, has won in the meantime.

The first juvenile hurdle of the season, the Railway Bar three-year-old Maiden, can go to Noel Meade’s Bat Masterson.

He faces a stiff task against the likes of Whatever It Takes and Why But Why, but won on the flat at this track and has reportedly schooled exceptionally well.

Tony Martin’s Undertheboardwalk can deliver in the first division of the Dysart Maiden Hurdle.

He produced his best effort to date when beaten a length into second by London Bridge at Bellewstown. London Bridge bolted in next time at Downpatrick and was a creditable fifth to Double Seven in a competitive handicap at Galway on Saturday.
