Having broken the track record with a scintillating display in the Epsom Derby, the four-year-old lined up at Ascot last year at long odds-on to claim further Group One honours.

But the son of King’s Best looked a shadow of the horse that turned up at Epsom, trailing home fifth of six runners behind now-retired stablemate Harbinger.
