Lanigan hoping rain stays away from Newmarket
The filly competed at the top level last year, including in two Classics, without getting her head in front, but she has been restricted to just one run so far this term when she was third to Ferdoos at Haydock in May.
Little has gone right for Meeznah, who finished second in last year's Epsom Oaks but was later disqualified after testing positive for a banned substance.
Lanigan had to ditch plans to run her in the Group Three Noblesse Stakes at Cork early last month as his stable was under a cloud.
He now reports her in fine form ahead of the Listed contest, registered as the Aphrodite Stakes.
"She's had a bit of a break since Haydock and I'd like to think she'd come on for that run," said the Newmarket trainer.
"Hopefully she's got a good chance. There's a lot of rain forecast, though, it's just whether it hits the Newmarket area or not.
"I didn't take her to Ireland because my horses weren't quite finishing their races so I didn't want to risk it.
"But they are running better now and she seems in good form."
Ralph Beckett is also keeping a close eye on the weather for his two fillies - Ceilidh House and Charleston Lady.
The former is effective with cut in the ground, while the lightly-raced Charleston Lady needs fast conditions to be seen at her best.
"There is rain forecast which is why I've declared both," said the Kimpton trainer.
"Ceilidh House ran a good race at Warwick last time and the form got a boost when Timepiece won the Falmouth last week at Newmarket.
"Charleston Lady has not run since the Pretty Polly. She had a few problems but she's fine now."
Plaisterer has her last chance of picking up some black type before she retires to the paddocks as she is in foal to Shirocco.
"She ran pretty well in a Listed race at Newcastle's Northumberland Plate meeting over a mile and a quarter," said trainer Chris Wall.
"We're just hopeful we can just nick third place. She's been close up in two Listed races but just missed a place.
"If we can make it third-time lucky and get a good run it would be job done and she can retire to the paddocks with a useful bit of black type."
Any rain would also be gratefully received by Andrew Balding for Opera Gal, who finished just ahead of Plaisterer at Newcastle.
"She had a spin in Listed company last time but it didn't quite go according to plan," said the Kingsclere trainer.
"She's in good form and we're looking forward to stepping her up to a mile and a half.
"Any rain would be welcome."
