Mark it down to Experience

EXPERIENCE must be strongly fancied to complete a hat-trick and defy a 5lbs Group 3 penalty in the listed Danehill Dancer Tipperary Stakes at Tipperary today.

Mark it down to Experience

David Wachman is responsible for two of the five runners in this five-furlong dash and, although Wayne Lordan is set to partner Requinto, the Excellent Art filly Experience sets the standard.

Unlucky on her debut over today’s course and distance, when failing by the minimum margin to catch Somasach, she justified odds-on favouritism when coasting to a two lengths win over subsequent winner Lightening Pearl in Navan.

And, upped in class, Experience followed-up when coming from off the pace to beat Somasach readily by a length and three-quarters in the Group 3 Grangecon Stud Stakes at the Curragh.

Naseem Sea and British raider Dam Beautiful, third and fifth respectively in the Curragh race, reoppose on 5lbs better terms and must be respected.

But Experience looks a classy prospect. And, although her two wins have been achieved over six furlongs, a strongly-run five on easy ground should enable Billy Lee to get her settled and deliver her late.

The consistent but frustrating Brazilian Breeze, third behind Nidian and subsequent winner Expire at Navan last time, should finally get off the mark for Kevin Prendergast in the five-furlong Knockanglass Stables Maiden.

And her rider Declan McDonogh might initiate a double on the Andy Slattery trained Ucanchoose, an all-the-way winner over six furlongs at Naas on Wednesday and expected to defy a 5lbs penalty when dropping back to five in the Active Retirement Handicap.

The Kevin Prendergast-trained filly Rose Bonheur, ninth to Misty For Me in the Irish 1,000 Guineas before landing a listed event at Naas and finishing a creditable third to Emulous in a Group 3 over seven furlongs, should have outstanding claims in the listed Belgrave Stakes at Fairyhouse tomorrow.

Dropping back to six furlongs should suit the daughter of Danehill Dancer, which must face hardened campaigners like Duff and the David Marnane-trained Santo Padre.

Slade Power, a Dutch Art colt which separated Ballydoyle colts Reply and Tenth Star on his debut at the Curragh, should open his account for Eddie Lynam in the six-furlong, two-year-old maiden on tomorrow’s card.

And, in Sligo tomorrow, the Eddie Harty-trained Carrigmartin, successful in a handicap chase at Punchestown in mid-May, might prove himself on course for the Galway Plate by defying top-weight in the Guinness Handicap Hurdle.
