Vaughan has weight worries for Dance

ED Vaughan would not be keen on running Dance And Dance in the totesport Mile and Glorious Goodwood if he were to be saddled with top weight.

Vaughan has weight worries for Dance

The Royal Hunt Cup runner-up is one of 77 entries for the valuable handicap and continues to perform with great credit despite rising up the ratings.

Having gone up another 6lb for his Ascot defeat, Vaughan has given him another option in France.

ā€œWe’ve made the entry at Goodwood and the plan has been to go for the totesport Mile,ā€ said Vaughan.

ā€œBut we’ll look at the race and see what’s running and how he is nearer the time.

ā€œWe have got another option for him in France and he’s a small horse so I wouldn’t be that keen to run him off top-weight at Goodwood.

ā€œHe’s as tough as teak and we keep saying every time that we don’t know if he can improve again, but he keeps pulling out a bit more.

ā€œHe goes well fresh and would go straight to Goodwood, there would be no prep race beforehand.

ā€œHe’s had plenty of runs already this season and we’ve got him up to a decent level of fitness.

ā€œI let him down slightly after Ascot and he was too fresh so I had to start with him again sooner than I intended. He’s in terrific form at home.ā€

Mark Johnston has won the last two renewals with Laa Rayb and Sea Lord but has just two entries this year, Master Of Arts and Tartan Gigha.

Three Royal Ascot winners are entered, Tom Dascombe’s Rhythm Of Light, Brian Meehan’s Manassas and Hughie Morrison’s Sagramor could all run.
