Haziyna can continue Oxx’s good recent run

JOHN OXX’S charges have found a nice bit of form of late and his Haziyna can keep the momentum going in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Race at Naas this evening.
Haziyna can continue Oxx’s good recent run

She was a modest juvenile and, as a result, began the season rated a lowly 65. Four runs later and the handicapper says the daughter of Halling has improved to the tune of 32lbs.

The selection has now scored twice this campaign, but it was her latest effort in defeat which was the most impressive performance to date.

In a Listed event at Leopardstown 13 days ago, Haziyna was beaten a short head and a head into third place behind Laughing and Notable Graduate.

Dropping back a furlong looks in her favour and that Leopardstown contest received a timely boost when fourth placed Banksters Bonus landed the Ulster Derby at Down Royal on Saturday.

They are a motley bunch in the Royal Sun Alliance Supporting Aware Maiden over five furlongs, with the nod falling on the frustrating Expire.

He has the capacity to clean out a parish and this will be his 13th attempt to get off the mark.

A week ago, however, Expire was beaten a head into second by Nidian at Navan and a repeat of that effort might be good enough.

Jim Bolger’s Vastitas gets the vote in the 16-runner Goffs’ Country Supporting Aware Handicap.

She was proving very costly to follow, until revelling in the soft ground when taking a Roscommon maiden by six lengths last week.

Even though Vastitas beat a rival, Betrothed, who was rated 2lbs superior to her, the handicapper has left her on the same mark.
