Go with Graduate
The Galileo colt has been brought along gradually by Dermot Weld and this will go some way towards revealing whether a tilt at the Irish Derby later this month is a realistic goal or not.
The selection got off the mark at the third attempt at Tipperary in April, beating John Oxx’s Kasanka by two and a half lengths.
Kasanka has not been seen since, but the third and fourth respectively, Minsk and Secretsubstitute, have both won in the meantime.
Notable Graduate then enjoyed an easy touch at Gowran Park when easily beating the modest Last Crusade by three and a half lengths.
We are still a bit in the dark as to his true ability, but Weld’s charge does seem to stay particularly well and the presence of stable companion Triple Eight, who is well capable of making the running, would indicate the likelihood that no prisoners will be taken!
Aidan O’Brien’s once-raced Tenth Star can land the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden for colts and geldings.
He was doing his best work at the finish when seven lengths third behind stable companion, Reply, at the Curragh and stepping up a furlong in in trip will surely work in his favour.
O’Brien can also supply the solution to the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden with another with just one outing under her belt, Devotion.
Despite only managing 10th of 16 to Janey Muddles at the Curragh, she wasn’t beaten all that far and, hopefully, the market will speak in favour of the daughter of Dylan Thomas.
Noel Meade’s Leceile, who made all when scoring by four and a half lengths at Naas on Monday, has to get the nod in the Follow Leopardstown On Facebook Handicap. She runs now under a mandatory 5lbs penalty and goes up by 13lbs in the future.
