Catch The Eye primed to strike

CATCH THE EYE can live up to her name by bounding home in front in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden at Naas tonight.
Catch The Eye primed to strike

The twice-raced daughter of Oratorio made a promising seasonal reappearance on this track last month and should now be primed to strike.

Dermot Weld’s charge travelled really well through that contest, but could not raise her tempo in the final furlong and was beaten three lengths into second by John Oxx’s Creekside.

Granted normal improvement, the selection can cope with the 90-rated, but mildly disappointing, Claiomh Solais.

Feature event is the Group 3 Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Blue Wind Stakes and this can fall to the Jim Bolger-trained Banimpire.

She’s a tough sort, who has run two cracking races of late. In the Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown, Banimpire beat Regent Street and Recital and that is particularly smart form.

She then backed that up with another game display to land the Victor McCalmont Stakes at Gowran Park.

Easily the highest rated in the race is Aoife Alainn, having a first outing for Tracey Collins. She finished off last season in her native Italy by taking a Group 1 at Capannelle, but at the moment it is hard to figure out where exactly she fits into the scheme of things.

Aidan O’Brien's once-raced Sam Lord’s Castle gets the vote in the ten furlongs Kill Maiden for colts and geldings.

The son of Galileo began with a modest fifth behind Tommy Stack’s well-regarded Parkers Mill at Tipperary, but it would no great surprise should plenty of improvement be forthcoming.

O’Brien sets a couple of posers in the opening races and the markets may prove all important.

His Ahimsa ran alright first time when fifth to Fire Lily at Navan and is the choice in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF two-year-old Fillies Maiden. O’Brien also, however, introduces a newcomer in Maybe, a daughter of Galileo.

Prophesy, by Excellent Art, could be the better of his two possibilities in the six furlongs Fishery Lane Race!
