Elliott happy to have given Dream a break
The David Johnson-owned seven-year-old became the trainer’s first scorer at the highest level when taking advantage of a final-fence fall of Mikael D’Haguenet in the rearranged Drinmore Novice Chase.
Jessies Dream had entries in the Feltham at Kempton and the Fort Leney Novice Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas, but Elliott has chosen to give him time to recover from those exertions.
“We had him entered for
tomorrow but obviously the entries closed a couple of weeks ago,” said Elliott.
“I just thought with Fairyhouse only being a couple of weeks ago I’d give him a bit longer off so we’ll give it a miss and probably go to Leopardstown at the end of January.
“He came out of the race very well, he’s an exciting horse for the future for a good owner.
“He’s going to be a three-miler on better ground and the RSA will be right up his street if he gets there in one piece,” he said.
