Cee Bee team plot Champion route
Having put his disappointing run in the Arkle behind him at the Punchestown Festival, the Queen Mother Champion Chase is his ultimate aim.
The Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown on December 4 and Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting are among the short-term options for the nine-year-old, owned by J P McManus.
“He’s fine, everything’s 100% with him. There are no plans yet. We’ll sit down during the week and hopefully hammer out where we go next, but we’ll savour yesterday first,” said trainer Eddie Harty.
Another Naas winner, Shinrock Paddy is pencilled in next for the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle after he overcame a lack of race fitness to win. The Paul Nolan-trained gelding earned a quote of 25-1 for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle when bouncing back from a disappointing run in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle at last season’s Cheltenham Festival.
He gave 20lb and a one and a quarter length beating to Son Amix and is now being targeted at the Grade One event over two and a half miles at Fairyhouse on November 28.
“We’ll take every race as it comes, but the Hatton’s Grace is the next one on the agenda.” said County Wexford trainer Nolan.
