Soprano can hit right note
The daughter of Celtic Swing made a promising start when fourth to John Oxx’s Zarebiya at Leopardstown and built on that next time on the same track.
She finished two and a half lengths second behind another of Oxx’s, Simkana, giving the impression there was plenty more to come. Both of her races to date were over a mile and a half and dropping down a little in distance now should work in favour of Paul Deegan’s filly.
Jim Bolger has his team in tremendous shape and So Secret can be another for him in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden. She hinted at possessing ability in two outings last season and made a reasonable reappearance at Fairyhouse 13 days ago. So Secret was doing her best work at the end when half a length second to Prince Jock over seven furlongs and moving up in trip should now work in her favour.
Tony Mullins is another whose horses are running well and his Battling Boru gets the vote in the Bumper. The four-year-old was third to Har Will and Jewel In The Sun at Limerick and the form was boosted when Jewel In The Sun won in a canter at Ballinrobe on Tuesday.
