BEWITCHED is to go on the trail of Group 3 success following her threequarter length win, under Johnny Murtagh, from Swiss Diva in the Listed Sweet Mimosa Stakes over six furlongs at Naas last night.

Bewitched casts spell on Mimosa rivals

The Charles O’Brien trained three year old came from behind to lead about 100 yards from the finish after a change of riding tactics had helped bring her a second Listed race success.

O’Brien said: “When Bewitched ran over seven furlongs at Fairyhouse last time, the trip was probably a step too far for her and she also didn’t help her cause by racing very freely. So Johnny missed the break intentionally tonight and let her creep into the race gradually. The ground was yielding tonight and it was also on the easy side when she won her first Listed race at Haydock in May, but I don’t think ground matters much to her.”
