Prescott can strike with Prescription

ENGLISH challenger Prescription could provide the answer to the Listed ITBA and Gain Horse Feeds Support Local Racetracks EBF Sweet Mimosa Stakes at Naas tonight.

Trainer, Mark Prescott, is not one for tilting at windmills and has a fine record with his runners in this country.

The selection appears to be very much on the upgrade and the booking of Declan McDonogh and being drawn in one are both positives.

She was last seen when landing another Listed event at Nottingham in May, beating Serious Attitude and Tropical Treat.

Serious Attitude was subsequently far from disgraced behind the brilliant Starspangledbanner at Royal Ascot, while Tropical Treat was successful in Listed company at Ayr next time.

On an evening when possible wagers look thin on the ground, Aidan O’Brien and Johnny Murtagh are fancied to team up for a short-priced double with Enchanted Forest and Fencing Master.

Enchanted Forest, who didn’t enjoy much luck in running, but more than caught the eye, when second to stable companion Brittany at Gowran Park, is difficult to oppose in the one mile two-year-old old Maiden.

Fencing Master has his sights considerably lowered in the Support Naas Hurling Club Race and the Oratorio colt’s turn seems to have come.

He contested both the Irish and English 2000 Guineas and was sixth to Afsare in the Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot on his latest appearance. Fencing Master is clearly well short of top class, but this is his easiest test as a three-year-old.

Tracey Collins’ Bintan is a hopeful nap choice in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden.

Hampered leaving the stalls, he then ran as green as grass when beaten six lengths by Rudolf Valentino on this track two weeks ago.

Bintan can only improve for the experience and the form of that contest has been working out quite nicely.
