Comment no foolish punt
There may be some value in opposing him, however, and Charlie Swan’s Foolish Comment is put forward as a rock solid each-way option against the likely hot-pot.
The selection was inconsistent last season, but has since been gelded and the evidence of his only outing this campaign would indicate that has proved beneficial.
He started at Navan last month and there was plenty to like about the performance. Foolish Comment was shuffled back at a vital stage, didn’t enjoy the best of runs in the straight, but came home nicely to claim third behind Rain Forest, successful in the meantime at Gowran Park, and Minsky Mine.
Of course Bridge Mountain may prove hard to beat. He was outpaced through the final furlong by the gambled-on Bob Le Beau at Naas and it is more than a possibility Foolish Comment will claim him as well in the closing stages here!
Willie Mullins’ Not For Converting has clearly been hard to train, but should now be poised to strike in the Bumper.
He was returning from a long break at the Curragh 18 days ago, staying on to finish fifth behind Shop DJ.
Improvement can surely be anticipated and this certainly shapes like a far easier assignment.
