The ground, however, was soft and Benvenuto will surely prefer this quicker surface. Henrythenavigator was at his best on fast ground.
At Tramore tonight, Dessie Hughes’ in-form Montero gets the vote in the Deise Evening at Tramore Maiden for lady riders.
He is currently in the form of his life, having scored three times in-a-row over fences, the latest coming at the Galway Festival.
Joanna Morgan’s Genesi, a neck second to Spinning Wings in a four-horse handicap at Roscommon last week, is the choice in the Subaru At The Sweep Garage Maiden.
