Ceist Eile poised to go one better

CEIST EILE, making a particularly quick reappearance, can land the nap in the Abbey Electrical Fillies Maiden at Naas tonight.

Ceist Eile poised to go one better

Jim Bolger's charge produced a career-best effort at Gowran Park on Sunday and has obviously bounced out of that in good shape.

The daughter of Noverre failed to trouble the judge in six outings last season, a fifth placing was the best she could manage, but may have made a fair amount of improvement from two to three.

Most of her runs as a juvenile were on bad ground anyway and she revelled in the fast surface on her return at Gowran.

Light in the market, the selection looked the likely winner for most of the straight, before being mugged close home and beaten a neck by the quietly-supported, Blackwitch Woman.

Ceist Eile now drops down a furlong and a half in trip, but that shouldn't make much of a difference on this stiff track.

Anywaysmile, who made a promising enough start when fourth to Apt at Cork, is rated the biggest danger.

Dermot Weld trains Anywaysmile and he can provide the answer to the Irish Stallion Farms' EBF Fillies Race with Casual.

Successful first time up at Leopardstown in October, Casual will, hopefully, improve plenty for her four lengths second to Duaishbhanna at Naas in April.

Miracle Match, third to a pair of smart sorts in Emperor Claudius and Bankrobber at Fairyhouse, gets the vote in the Irish Stallion Farms' EBF Auction Maiden.
