Dancer can dazzle for Weld

DERMOT Weld’s horses are struggling to hit form at the moment, but the stable’s fortunes can start to turn the corner with Dazzle Dancer in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden at Killarney tonight.

The twice-raced daughter of Montjeu made a very encouraging reappearance at Gowran Park nine days ago and is napped to build on that effort.

She was beaten two lengths into second by John Oxx’s Miss Keller and had her main danger now, Wanna, just a short head behind in third.

On that basis there should be little or nothing between the pair again, but Dazzle Dancer is preferred.

Wanna had the benefit of a previous run going to Gowran and the manner in which Dazzle Dancer stayed on indicated that stepping up an extra two furlongs plus now will be all in her favour.

The Tommy Stack-trained Light Sticker is fancied to take the Irish Stallion Farms’ Median Auction Maiden.

The son of Choisir made an eye-catching start at Naas, noted doing all his best work at the end of seven furlongs when fifth behind Vaticano.

Tony Martin's Aggie’s Lad, who hit form at Fairyhouse last time, gets the vote in the Seamus Weldon Novice Chase.

He stayed on strongly then to beat Peplum by three and a half lengths and, as they meet on the same terms, there is no reason to think the placings can be reversed.
