War Of Attrition set for Thurles

WAR Of Attrition is virtually certain to run in the €20,000 Thurles Chase over two miles and six furlongs at Thurles next Thursday.

The 2006 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner made a spectacular return from injury at Punchestown and the Thurles race has been pencilled in by Mouse Morris, after he decided to sidestep Wetherby tomorrow.

Speaking at Clonmel yesterday, Morris reported: “War Of Attrition will be given an entry at Thurles and I’d say will go there.

“I was delighted with him at Punchestown, he even impressed me! He’s been in very good form since, but it is day-to-day with him and I am not thinking beyond next week.”
