Testing surface should not trouble A Girl

THE rather uniquely named A Girl is the nap choice in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden for fillies at Tipperary this afternoon.

Testing surface should not trouble A Girl

The surface is certain to be testing, but should not trouble the once-raced daughter of Sadler’s Wells.

The ground was very much on the heavy side when John Oxx’s inmate made her debut at Navan nine days ago.

It took the selection a while to get organised but she finished to real effect to be beaten a length into second by David Wachman’s well-backed favourite Latin Love.

The Tipperary Supporters’ Club 2009 Race is best left to Maurice Utrillo.

He’s also by Sadler’s Wells and was a strong order morning prices and on track at Gowran Park last month.

Maurice Utrillo could not get to Jim Bolger’s relatively experienced Oh Goodness Me in the final two furlongs, however, going down by a length and three parts.

Trained by Aidan O’Brien, there has to be every chance he will come on a bundle for that outing.

At Dundalk, Bolger’s Ard Na Greine, who has already shown a liking for the track, can take the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden for colts and geldings.

Beaten into second by O’Brien’s Age Of Aquarius at Dundalk, he found another Ballydoyle colt, Malibu Bay, too good at Navan last week.

Ard Na Greine made most of the running at Navan and the fact that it was five and a half lengths back to the third was obviously encouraging.
