RUBY WALSH and Clear Gold teamed up to land a grief-stricken McEligott’s Landrover Handicap Chase at Killarney last night.

Held up by Walsh for much of the trip, he ploughed through the sixth before improving to join issue with Tarn Ridge over two out. The winner soon edged ahead, seemingly sure to score, but there was one more danger looming, namely a loose horse.

He went across in front of Clear Gold, causing him to stumble slightly, and then raced with the winner to the final fence.
