Gent a dream bet
Jessica Harrington’s six-year-old has always shaped like a chaser in the making and a reasonable round of jumping now should see him dealing comfortably with this opposition.
A more than useful timber-topper, he was last seen when contesting the competitive Swinton Handicap Hurdle at Haydock last month.
The selection, arguably, ran the race of his young life to finish fourth of 24 behind the impressive Andrew Turnell-trained Blue Bajan.
Dreamy Gent performed even better than the bare form might suggest, because he was challenging for the lead when blundering two out.
Michael Hourigan’s Some Craic has real prospects of enjoying a first success over flights in the Jennings’ Meats Handicap Hurdle.
He runs here off a mark of 78, a whopping 33lbs below his current rating over fences. Some Craic has shown a lot of improvement of late at that game.
Hourigan’s charge won in a canter at Clonmel and Kilbeggan, before completing the hat-trick at Listowel.
There was a huge slice of luck involved then. Some Craic should have finished second to Green Mile, that one got it all wrong at the last, but this progressive sort clearly has a big edge now.
Eddie Lynman’s Icemancometh has very much the best of the weights in the Joe Gibbons’ CPA Accountants Claiming Race and should go close.
It is always a worry when they are dropped into this grade, but the selection did run well enough last time when sixth in the handicap won by Inwood at Leopardstown.
