Ground the key to 2000 Guineas rematch

A rematch often causes more of a stir than the first meeting and that is very much the case in Saturday’s Boylesports’ Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh.

To get the first two from Newmarket, Henrythenavigator and New Approach, to cross-swords again was the dream and, barring an unexpected change of plan somewhere along the way, it seems likely to happen.

I have been mildly surprised at the number of people who are adamant New Approach will beat his rival on this occasion.
