Carrigeencan collect
Lightly-raced and a half-brother to the useful chaser Carrigeen Kalmia, this was always going to be the seven-year-old’s true vocation.
Mind you, he did fall at the first on his only excursion over fences so far, in the contest won by Notre Pere at Punchestown in early December.
Hopefully, that was a mere blip and, prior to that, Carrigeen King showed he was a decent sort in the making when beating subsequent winner, No Toll, in a Clonmel bumper.
His latest effort was over flights at Thurles in March, when a length and a quarter runner-up behind Front Man.
The handicapper High Fidelitay, a creditable fourth to Wheresben at Navan, is the main worry, but the selection could be very decent at this game and is preferred.
Tommy Stack has his charges in good shape and Nubar Lady can do the business for him in the Modigliani EBF Maiden.
There was solid word of the daughter of Danetime at Navan on Sunday and she ran a promising race to be beaten a neck by Blas Ceoil.
Austin Leahy’s Aseasyas is afforded a nice opportunity in the Enjoy The Action At Tipperary As A Member Handicap. She returns to this track, having finished a length and a half second to Luxie last time, and will race off a mark just a pound higher now.
Luxie went in again at Leopardstown and fifth placed Miranda’s Girl has also scored in the meantime.
Casherassdotcom, third behind Labaqa and Halfway To Heaven at Leopardstown on her only outing in October, could provide the solution to the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden.
