Beef may go to Punchestown
Retirement may be put on hold as connections consider the Guinness Gold Cup at Punchestown on April 23 for the 12-year-old, which he won in 2004.
“There’s no decision at the moment, but he may run at Punchestown in the Guinness Gold Cup,” said trainer Michael Hourigan of the 10-time Grade One winner.
Beef Or Salmon was pulled up before the second-last fence under the steadier of 12st in the Fairyhouse feature in what was his 50th racecourse appearance.
“He’s fine, 100%. We were very happy with the way he ran under that weight,” added Hourigan.
