BEEF Or Salmon could race on following his unsuccessful attempt to defy top weight in the Powers Whiskey Irish Grand National yesterday.

Retirement may be put on hold as connections consider the Guinness Gold Cup at Punchestown on April 23 for the 12-year-old, which he won in 2004.

“There’s no decision at the moment, but he may run at Punchestown in the Guinness Gold Cup,” said trainer Michael Hourigan of the 10-time Grade One winner.
