Starcan shine

CHEYENNE STAR is a hopeful nap choice in the Listed Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Cooley Fillies Stakes at Dundalk tonight.

Frances Crowley’s daughter of Mujahid has been in cracking form of late and should at least go reasonably close. She finished with a real flourish to win another Listed event at Naas last month, powering through in the dying strides to beat Thoughtless Moment a neck.

The four-year-old is entitled to come on plenty for that, considering it was her first outing since failing by a head to Quinmaster at Leopardstown over four months earlier.

John Oxx’s Lidana gets the nod in the CRE Rentals Median Auction Maiden. Once raced, she showed some promise when fourth to Colombard on this track in October.

Jim Bolger’s Linsalata looks best in the opening European Mortages Race over six furlongs.

She has shown significant improvement of late, scoring at Cork and then finishing a highly creditable fifth to Jupiter Pluvius in the Group 3 Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown.
