Finsceal 4/5 for Guineas double
Jim Bolger’s star filly landed the Newmarket version with ease but was just touched off by the unbeaten Darjina in the French equivalent just seven days later.
She will face a maximum of 13 rivals if she attempts to equal the double last achieved by Mark Johnston’s flying filly Attraction in 2004.
Taking her on again will be John Oxx’s Arch Swing, her nearest pursuer at Newmarket, and the 11-4 second favourite with Ladbrokes.
“Arch Swing really caught the eye at Newmarket and it’ll be fascinating to see if the punters who got their fingers burnt with Finsceal Beo in France are prepared to side with her again in Ireland,” said spokesman David Williams.
Other Newmarket also-rans who could reoppose include Mick Channon’s Treat (fourth), Richard Hannon’s Indian Ink (fifth) and Stan Moore’s Satulagi (ninth).
Treat has been partnered by Jamie Spencer on her last two starts but with that rider ruled out by suspension, Johnny Murtagh will take over in the saddle.
“She’s in good form. She’ll have a breeze tomorrow morning and as long as Mick is happy with her, she will head to Ireland,” said Harry Herbert, racing manager for Treat’s owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.
“She was in season last week so she had a easy time of it but she will have a nice breeze tomorrow and then it will be all systems go.
“Johnny Murtagh will ride her and we think the stiff mile of the Curragh will be to her advantage.
“Obviously a bit of rain will help her but it doesn’t look as if we are going to get any.
“We just felt that we wanted to have another go at a mile before we stepped her up in trip.”
