Beatrix heads straight for Guineas

GOFFS Million winner Miss Beatrix will be aimed for the Stan James 1000 Guineas at Newmarket without a prep run.

Kevin Prendergast’s Danehill Dancer filly beat the colts in the most expensive race ever run in Ireland to follow up her victory in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes.

Prendergast will resist the temptation to give her an outing before May 6, however, and hopes she will be in top shape for the fillies’ Classic.

“She’s coming along great. If she never wins another race again we can’t complain. She owes us nothing and not many juveniles win £800,000.”

Meanwhile, Prendergast hopes Brazilian Bride can release her untapped potential in the Dimitrova 1000 Guineas Trial Stakes at Leopardstown today.

The Pivotal filly finished a close fourth to stable companion Miss Beatrix in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes last August after filling the same position behind the now-retired Holy Roman Emperor in the Phoenix Stakes.

Prendergast believes his filly is the one to beat and said: “She was only just touched off in two Group Ones last season which is top class form.

“She was fourth in the Phoenix Stakes and fourth in the Moyglare. She’s rated 107 while Arch Swing is rated 111 off just two runs but we are looking for her to run a big race."
