Detroit City generally a 2/1 chance following Irish pair’s defection

And after finishing second to Noland in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle 12 months ago, Gifford is confident a truly-run race will bring out the best in the JP McManus-owned gelding.
“He is absolutely A1 at the moment. He is improving all the time, but he is going to have to improve again,” he reasoned.
“I was really impressed with his jumping at Wincanton. He travels ever so well in his races and I think he is crying out for a really fast-run race.
“Hopefully, that will help him settle and I don’t think he’ll be far away.”
