Wins Now looks set for more success
Formerly trained in France by Thierry Doumen, his latest two efforts have shown he is a horse very much on the upgrade.
Wins Now was a beaten third at Fairyhouse when falling at the second last, in what is now looking an increasingly hot contest.
It was won by De Valira from Arrive Sir Clive, both went in at Leopardstown subsequently, and other winners to emerge from the race are Franklins Trail, Offaly and Merchent Paddy.
Madden’s charge then went to Navan, where he scored unextended by ten lengths from Will Jamie Run. The bare form is modest, but the style of the victory was impressive and he gets the nod.
Franklins Trail followed his Fairyhouse effort by getting up close home to score at Gowran Park and is the danger.
Dual bumper winner Cobham is fancied to get off the mark over jumps in the first division of the McCarthy Insurance Group Maiden Hurdle.
Willie Mullins’ gelding is down in class, having performed respectably when sixth behind Charlie Yardbird at Leopardstown.
The Coolagown Stud Maiden Hurdle is tricky, but a little on Michael O’Brien’s Significant shouldn’t miss the mark by too much.
Successful on the level for John Oxx, he has been rested since running reasonably well when seventh to Hotel Hilamar at Punchestown in the middle of November.
Keeping Ruby Walsh on your side frequently helps pay the bills and he is the man to follow at Naas tomorrow. Walsh partners three for Willie Mullins, Snowy Morning, Hollywood Law and Black Harry, and all have live chances.
Former winning poiner Snowy Morning is the nap choice in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Novice Chase. He made a solid start over fences at Navan, beating Be My Leader a dozen lengths, and is the type to improve plenty.
Vintage Treasure, who was far too good for Mister Top Notch at Limerick and is trained by in-form Charles Byrnes, rates the obvious worry.
The Grade 2 Woodlands Park 100 Slaney Novice Hurdle can be safely narrowed down to Hollywood Law, Kazal and Casey Jones.
The nod falls on Hollywood Law, third behind Aran Concerto and Footy Facts at Navan, who had Kazal (levels) a length and a half away in fourth.
Black Harry can take the 25-runner Annual Membership At Naas Maiden Hurdle, even though it has to be said he was quite disappointing when a remote third to Arrive Sir Clive and Judge Deed at Leopardstown.
The selection was the medium of some major wagers on that occasion and is probably worth another chance, in a weaker heat.
