Star tops Power weights
Paul Nicholls’ charge will have to carry 11st 12lb if he takes his chance in the two-mile-five-furlong event, although the Betfair Chase at Haydock on November 18 has also been mentioned as the six-year-old’s next possible port of call.
If Kauto Star does not run, Nicholls will still have a leading contender in Taranis who has been given 10st 2lb and is the 9-2 favourite with the sponsors.
David Pipe, whose father Martin won seven of the last 10 renewals, has Bet365 Charlie Hall Chase winner Our Vic on 11st 10lb, 3lb more than last year when he won the race.
Irish interest is represented by Watson Lake (10st 11lb), Sir Oj (10st 5lb) and In Compliance (10st 3lb) among others.
