IMPRESSIVE recent Aintree winner Kauto Star heads the weights for the £110,000 Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday week.

Paul Nicholls’ charge will have to carry 11st 12lb if he takes his chance in the two-mile-five-furlong event, although the Betfair Chase at Haydock on November 18 has also been mentioned as the six-year-old’s next possible port of call.

If Kauto Star does not run, Nicholls will still have a leading contender in Taranis who has been given 10st 2lb and is the 9-2 favourite with the sponsors.
