Halford hope can do the trick
The ex-Australian horse has made solid start in Ireland and this looks a suitable opportunity for Michael Halford's five-year-old. He began with a reasonably promising third behind hot-pot Royal Intrigue on the flat at Naas and did even better when launched over jumps at the Galway Festival.
Do The Trick was quietly supported from 20-1 to 12's and didn't miss the target by a huge margin, finishing two and a half lengths runner-up behind Ecole d'Art. It is possible the ground may turn testing, with plenty of rain forecast, but that shouldn't bother the selection, who scored on soft and heavy in his native country.
Lace Your Boots, below par on this track when beaten by Pagan Magic, but previously
only touched off by Noend at Roscommon, rates the danger.
Missgoodytwoshoes can prove up to the task in a moderate looking Londis Supermarkets' Handicap Hurdle. She got going all too late when beaten a neck by Marguerita at Cork and at Sligo subsequently was just beginning to work into the contest when parting company with Ruby Walsh after four out, race won by Third Level Tom.
Courtwood, who battled well to beat Sweet Peak a short head at Limerick, is a hopeful choice in the Tattersalls Ireland Fillies Auction Race. Harry Rogers has endured a nightmare campaign but Beautiful Affair, a close third to Breaker Morant at Ballinrobe last week, might offer some hope in the Quayside Shopping Centre Handicap.
