Hannon aiming for Super seven in Sprint

GILDED leads a three-strong challenge from Richard Hannon’s yard as the trainer targets a seventh success in the £135,000 Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury today.

Lyric Fantasy’s success in 1992 was the first of six winners for Hannon, who sent out 100-1 outsider Lady Livius to lift the prize last term.

That victory gave the Wiltshire handler his third Super Sprint in four years, and he also saddles Gilded’s stablemates Cav Okay and Resignation in his pursuit of another victory.
